#91/365 Paintings

Meet Skeeter and Jed. They are brothers. Can you tell which one is the mommy’s boy? I don’t think his brother is fooled though. I have a feeling you might see a few more Skeeters and Jed’s this month. Along with a couple of Rosie’s and Jezzabel’s. ; D

Project notes: I do love the transition from one theme to the next. But this month I’m extra excited. The new toolbox that’s developed from last month has given me tons of new ideas and directions I want to try out. Also, this summer is shaping up to be full of travel adventures. Spring fever has hit in Niya-land.

If Picasso had your sense of color, of if Van Gogh and Monet and Cezanne had all teamed up together, maybe they could have come up with this. Fun and bright-springlike and cubist all at once. This is really a departure – I don’t know if you have always been this versatile, but it’s amazing the territory you’ve covered in just a quarter of the year.

That is absolutely fabulous. The color knocks me out. (Using my massage persona rather than my literary persona, here. WordPress hates my literary persona; I don’t know why. Maybe this comment will make it through the spam filters!) Anyway, I’m just in awe of the color, how it moves my eye back and forth, remaking the shapes as it goes. Brilliant painting.

Oh my gosh, thank you — both of you. It’s so strange how the paintings I’m most hesitant about posting get the biggest response. Always a huge surprise to me. Learning a lot. Thank you again. It means a lot.

Oh yes, more Skeeter and Jed. They are delightful; their expressions are so loveable.
